The CUHK-Shenzhen High Table Dinner 2021
The 2021 CUHK-Shenzhen High Table Dinner was held on 23 November. Prof. Yangsheng XU, President of CUHK-Shenzhen, Prof. B.T. ZHU, Associate Vice President of CUHK-Shenzhen, Mr. K.C. YUEN, Vice President of CUHK-Shenzhen, Prof. X.Q. CAI, Associate Vice President of CUHK-Shenzhen, Prof. Yang GU, Associate Vice President and Dean of Diligentia College, Prof. Zide DU, Advisor to the President, Prof. S.Y TONG, Dean of the Graduate School, Prof. Xuefeng WANG, Associate Dean of the Graduate School, Prof. Dequan YE, Dean of the School of Life and Health Sciences, Prof. Davy CHENG, Founding Dean of the School of Medicine, Prof. Pooi-Yuen KAM, Associate Dean of the School of Science and Engineering, Prof. Tianwei YU, Associate Dean of the School of Data Science, Prof. Yongqin CHEN, Master of Muse College, Prof. Lixin YE, Master of Harmonia College, are among the leaders and guests of various departments who attended the High Table Dinner. The freshmen of the School of Music performed the song, I only care about you. The stunning performance was a highlight of the night.

The High Table Dinner is adapted from the Formal Hall at the University of Oxford and University of Cambridge, where students dressed up formally for the ceremony. However, the High Table Dinner has stricter requirements on table manners: how to eat, how to toast and how to socialize. This is a good way to learn about Western culture and remind students that they have entered into a new journey – university life.
