Opera & Voice Division
The Opera & Voice Division of the School of Music, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen has eight full-time professors, one part-time professors, three lecturers, and eight collaborative pianos. In the 2021-2022 academic year, the division admitted undergraduate students for the first time. In the 2022-2023 academic year, the division successfully admitted the first cohort of graduate students and in the 2024-2025 academic year, the division admitted the first cohort of doctoral students. Currently, the division has admitted a total of 60undergraduate students, 47graduate students and 1doctoral students.
For more than three years, students in the Opera & Voice Division have achieved excellent results in various professional competitions at home and abroad, including: the sixth place in the Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music; the second prize in The Chinese Junior Golden Bell Showcase for Music 2024; the first, second places and the Best Young Singer Award in the 9th Paolo CONI International Opera Vocal Competition; the first prizes in Hunan and Anhui provinces in the Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music; the "Shenzhen Special Award" in the Chinese Art Song International Singing Competition; the first place in the Bel Canto group of the Shenzhen Singing Festival-National Invitation Singing Contests; and winning awards in many competitions such as the Peafowl Award Showcase for Music, the Korea Chuncheon International Vocal Competition, and the Korea & China International Vocal Competition.
The Opera & Voice Division of the School of Music, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen aims to cultivate talents with both academic and practical capabilities, emphasizing both professional and quality education. The School gathers well-known musicians around the globe, serving the national and cultural development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
