Piano & Keyboard Division
The Piano & Keyboard Division of the School of Music, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, offers undergraduate, postgraduate and Doctor of Music program in Music Performance (Piano).
Currently, the Piano & Keyboard Division consists of ten renowned pianists who are full-time faculty members.
The Piano & Keyboard Division aims to attract outstanding teachers and promote first-class standards through diverse and international academic faculty.
The Piano & Keyboard Division’s mission is to train and form all-round music professionals capable of cross-disciplinary applications of their scholarship to meet society’s needs in various domains.
The curriculum offered by the division includes but is not limited to Keyboard Skills (a trailblazing new format precisely and explicitly targeting piano technique deficiencies), Applied Music, Piano Literature, Piano Topics I: Fundamentals, Piano Topic II: Accompaniment, Music Analysis, History of Western Music I, Chinese Music History, etc.
The division’s philosophy takes into consideration the whole curriculum and the importance of an all-encompassing holistic approach as its premise. Besides academic teaching, the division organizes and coordinates several applied art events and academic exchanges in an unflagging effort to foster a multifaceted and extensive academic learning experience.
Moving forward, the Piano & Keyboard Division will keep advancing the top-notch study programs through constant searching for innovative and advanced educational routes in order to cultivate more and more talents equipped with world-class academic erudition and performance abilities.
