LIN Daye is currently serving as Adjunct Professor of the School of Music, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He is also a music director and principal conductor of Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, associate director and associate professor of the Composition & Conducting department at Shanghai Conservatory of Music, a key member of First-Class Orchestra Talent Cultivation and Practical of Shanghai Innovation Team, board member of China Musicians Association and member of Shanghai Youth Association. Besides, he has received the He Luting Art Achievement Award for year 2020 and 2022, China National Arts Fund Youth Performing Artist 2020 and won the 6th International Conductors' Competition Sir Georg Solti in 2012.

He has successively studied under Prof. Xu Xin, a conductor and an educator from the Central Conservatory of Music, Prof. Zhang Guoyong from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and Prof. Christian Ehwald of the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin , Germany, and obtained the Konzertexamen certificate.

In 2009, LIN Daye was the resident conductor of Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra. Between 2009 and 2015, he was appointed the permanent conductor of  Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra (GSO) and made several concert tours with GSO in homeland and overseas. In 2012, he won the first prize at the 6th Sir Georg Solti International Conductors' Competition which was held in Frankfurt, Germany and became the first Chinese musician to receive the award from this competition. In the same year, he was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award by Guangdong Musicians Association.

In September 2015, LIN Daye returned to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and currently is the associate director and associate professor of Composition & Conducting Department.

In May 2016, LIN Daye was officially appointed as music director and principal conductor of Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra (SZSO).

Up to now, LIN Daye has led Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra to tour around China and countries such as Germany, the United States, Italy, Romania, Slovenia, Canada, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary and other countries. He has conducted SZSO at the Festival Ljubljana , Radiro - International Radio Orchestras Festival, Emilia Romagna Festival, the Südtirol Festival Merano Meran, the Donizetti Opera Festival, Festival delle Nazioni, Shanghai Spring International Music Festival among other international music festivals. Moreover, LIN Daye is often invited to conduct many well-known orchestras at home and abroad.
