Ms. SUI Borui
Lecturer
SUI Borui, pianist, is currently serving as a Collaborative Piano faculty at the School of Music, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. She is also the pianist of the NCPA Octet.
Previously, she studied piano performance under the guidance of the head of the piano department Prof. Martin Hughes at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. She also won the Vienna Beethoven Society Scholarship for her unparalleled refinement of tone and virtuosity playing.
As a piano soloist, she has performed concertos with the China NCPA Orchestra, Berlin Sinfonietta, and Qingdao Symphony Orchestra. She held recitals in Vienna, Beijing, Qingdao, Ningbo, and Zhenjiang. She also had the privilege to present herself on legendary stages such as the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, Vienna Großer Musikvereinssaal, and Carnegie Hall.
Since joining the China National Centre for the Performing Arts in early 2016, she has played a vital role in over 20 opera productions and hundreds of concerts held in NCPA. She has worked closely with conductors such as LU Jia, Xian Zhang, LI Xincao, ZHANG Guoyong, WU Lingfen, Daniel Oren, and Renato Palumbo.
In the chamber music field, she is a member of the NCPA's in-house chamber group NCPA Octet. Borui recorded the recordings of Classic Chinese and Foreign Opera Choruses. In addition, she also played artistic roles in state events such as the G20 Summit, the Belt and Road Summit, the International Horticultural Exhibition Opening Ceremony, and other important concerts.
