Ms. ZHANG Chen
Lecturer
ZHANG Chen is currently serving as a Collaborative Piano faculty at the School of Music, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. She attended the primary and secondary schools affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) and the Royal College of Music (RCM) in the UK, earning degrees including a Bachelor of Music (Honours) in Piano Performance and a Master's degree, along with a Performance Diploma. She further pursued her studies at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. Her education was enriched by guidance from esteemed professors such as Zhang Chongfang, Wang Jianzhong, Chen Weiling, Benjamin Frith, Andrew Zolinsky, and Elena Riu.
She was invited to perform at several prestigious music festivals, including concerts for the 200th anniversary of Chopin's birth, Messiaen's works concerts, Brough New Music London, and the Chopin Society of Hong Kong. Additionally, she was a guest performer at the New Year's Concerts organized by the Chinese Consulate in Manchester, UK.
ZHANG Chen also studied chamber music and piano accompaniment, under the tutelage of professors such as Yu Yinjia, Peter Hill, and David Jones. During her time in the UK, she was the accompanist in Professor Deborah Rees' class. With her accompaniment, students won numerous vocal competition awards.
She won first place in the RNCM Piano Duo Competition, first place in the Teacher's Group at the 12th Shenzhen Piano Duo and Four-Hand Invitation Competition, and the John Halford Prize for composition and Performance. In addition, she served as the piano accompaniment for the Shenzhen Futian Lu Siqing String Art Week and String Orchestra, as well as the Futian Cup String Elite Competition. She has collaborated with artists such as Lu Siqing, Tsu Weiling, Mark Messenger, and Sophie Rowell. Her performances received unanimous praise from the organizing committees.
