The Music Library is located at 1/F of the teaching building at the transitional campus of the School of Music, CUHK-Shenzhen, covering an area of 330 square meters. The library supports music teaching and learning, academic research and professional development. It is divided into 3 zones: Circulation Zone, Reading Zone and Self-Study Zone. High-quality professional equipment including a self-service borrowing machine, a disinfection cabinet for books, a high-definition semi-automatic scanner, desktops, a self-service printer, etc. At present, the library has 14802 volumes of printed books and sheet music in Chinese, as well as 6859 volumes in other languages (as of August 2024). Besides, over 200 sets of audio-visual materials and dozens of monographs/manuscripts have been donated to the library by various musicians. The library is also the subscriber to many authoritative music e-resources such as Henle Library, Medici.tv and MET Opera. The widely-used scorewriter program, Sibelius Ultimate, has been purchased and installed on every computer of the Reading Zone. Last but not least, in support of the aesthetic education of the university, donated sheet music manuscripts and a Guqin have been exhibited at the library for a long time, and online stream musical events are regularly pushed to all readers.
